Pause time… still a witch?

When I looked on this site I thought I had been quite regular within my posts ... so you can imagine my shock when I realised it has been over a year! ...

Where did all the time go? I had planned to post monthly and bring up to date content to anyone who wishes to read it but now it's gone..

Gone! The moments gone but it's now not on pause.

My personal life however has been full of spiritual journeys and happy memories but what if your spiritual journey pauses? what does that mean for your spirituality? Can you still call yourself a witch? And how do you go about getting back on the broomstick...

We will all in our lives have moments of pause. This can come in many forms such a a death or a birth, slowing down in life or speeding up through new opportunities. The general ebb flow that is life.

Having these moments of pause can make you feel disconnected, not only from your craft, but to yourself as a person; distancing yourself from something that you love, as something else takes place. This in turn will only make your love for the craft stronger once you return to it, and although it feels like the time has passed or your turn in the wheel has gone it will always be there waiting for you if you choose to come back.

What does this mean for me spiritually?

That is something you'll have to answer on a one-to-one personal basis with yourself. Spirituality is such a personal journey that can only be experienced internally. Does this mean that your spiritual journey is over? Of course not. It is never too late to embark on the next adventure!

Can I still call myself a witch?

Yes, most definitely!

I know that's a quick answer and maybe an explanation is needed behind this. However I've seen so many people gatekeep the fact that they have to be called witch only under "certain circumstances"*. However what you wish to go by is completely up to you! If you still have that belief in the craft and you're happy to go forward, remember you don't have to practice daily.

This is about a journey. It is not a sprint. It is a slow marathon through life and how you wish to experience it... within yourself, within nature and winthin and connected to the universe.

I want to get back on the broomstick... how do I re-connect?

There are many ways to re-connect spiritually. They don't have to be big rituals or dedicating a whole table to an altar but by all means if you feel that's needed or something you feel called to do then embrace that feeling. Otherwise the small every day things you do in your life can be witchcraft as long as they are done with purpose...

  • Walk barefoot to ground

  • Program your tea to add or remove energies in your life

  • Use herbs in your cooking that you've programmed and stir in your intent

  • Light a candle and connect with its energy

  • Connect with nature by going for a walk or collecting items

  • Re connect to your old witchy items such as crystals or a previous book of shadows

  • Set up protection work even if it's just lighting incense and collecting all the ashes for now (ready to make witches salt later)

  • Meditation

  • Dream work (write down your dreams)

Any of the above are small steps back into witchcraft until you do most things with intent ... and if you don't do things all the time with intent? - that's ok too! Every path is individual and you'll find your own balance within your own time

Got any other ways to connect?

"Let me know below! Let's share our experiences and pass on support to others - no comments to join in? - that's ok be the first and stand out from the crowd! Your comment may help someone "

Blessed be witches and happy crafting!

If you have no tips for others a comment is always welcome either way 🥰

* The belief that you need to go under a certain ritualistic means or a certain amount of practise to be called something in particular when it doesn't apply under this spiritual belief

Hi there friend 👋

Life has its ups and downs. Even ith the best will in the world sometimes pause is necessary at times. It doesn't mean we've failed or not worthy of calling ourselves what we choose. It just means a pitstop before further outward expansion.

Much love

I'm a mom of three kids, all under 15 and it's not easy to have time to myself. But I do try and walk barefoot in the dirt at some point. I try and do baths with salts and I definitely light incense with intention. ^-^

I love this as it’s the little things that really help and keep you grounded and happy isn’t it 🥰 as a mother of four myself I completely understand 🧡

posting on behalf of someone on IG who left feedback / help there and wished me to pass it on (they were unable to comment themselves)

- Sometimes the pause is what you need to re-discover yourself. Sometimes you mentally got overloaded cause you delved in with so much of yourself that you forgot yourself. Never feel bad for pausing, no matter how long it may be. 💕

Blessed be all
